Hempstead UFSD Prospect Elementary School | Addition & Renovation
On this project, Elite Construction provided the renovation of a previously closed 45,700 SF facility into a state of the art elementary school. Historically significant, the main facility was constructed in 1906, with two other facilities added in 1916 and 1918.
The scope of work for these improvements included flooring, MEP system replacement, boiler, ceiling and door replacements and technology upgrades throughout the facility. In addition, a 14,700 SF, six classroom kindergarten wing was constructed to include a multi-purpose area to serve as a cafeteria and physical education station.
The project also included roof reconstruction (shingle and membrane), masonry repairs and site improvements for the playground, sidewalks and parking.
Elite Construction also managed SWPPP monitoring, MWBE/EEO outreach, indoor air quality management, coordination of FFE and the re-occupation of the school after a decade of vacancy.
