Nassau Community College | Demolition, Rehabilitation, and Construction
These two separate renovation projects were issued as Task Orders, and required Construction Inspection support services for the concurrently running projects.
Project 1 was comprised of the demolition and complete gut removal of 108 Duncan Avenue (approx. 8,620 SF gross) to expose bearing wall framing for structural inspection. Scope also included abatement of existing ACM floor tile, mold remediation, and provisions for temporary electrical power, lighting, and a new fire alarm system, placards, signs, and exterior sheathing for building security and vacancy identification purposes all of the mechanical and electrical systems.
Project 2 scope of work for Building T-154 included the rehabilitation of the existing building’s exterior siding with new perimeter skirting and complete demolition and removal of an existing connecting corridor segment and abandoned brick masonry chimney. Installation of a new concrete landing/stoop and full width stairs, including new aluminum railings was also included, as well as complete removal and replacement of all existing wood windows.
