Battery Park City | Planter & Tree Pit Rails
Elite, as Construction Manager of this task order, oversaw the fabrication and installation of new hoop rails around 26 tree pits + the repair of existing hoop rails in planter/tree pits in 20 other various locations within Battery Park City, as well as the construction of a new planting area adjacent to the BPC Ballfields.
Project scope included construction of a new planting area along the edge of the ballfield; fabrication and installation of hoop rails around planting beds within Belvedere Park; and fabrication, installation and repairs of metal hoop rails in additional areas within Battery Park City.
Elite’s services included managing the survey of existing tree pit locations, the supervision of all subcontractors and scheduling their completion of the fabrications, installations and repairs. Additionally, Elite coordinated the salvage and delivery of any granite/cobble blocks (that were removed for needed hoop rail adjustments) back to the park’s headquarters. At the ballfield, Elite also supervised the installation of fencing, concrete and soil.
Elite also handled the tracking and management of project costs, scheduled activities, communications and other relevant data; monitoring construction activities; maintaining daily logs, submittal logs, and RFI logs; and review of change orders. Completed on-time within budget.
